"FAQ for New Bike Riders"

-When is the ride?

The ride is April 17, 18,2010.  This year is the 14th year for the 100% Solution Bike Ride for Life

-How much money do I need to raise in order to ride?

We ask $500 minimum fundraising for each rider and each rider is responsible for a portion of food and lodging during the ride

-Where does the money go that is donated?

One hundred percent of our contributions go to Tuesday's Angels.  Tuesday's Angels is a local direct assistance charity that helps men, women, and children in Broward County who are living with HIV and AIDS.

-What is the route?  Where do we ride?

The route follows A1A, the beach highway.  We leave from Las Olas at the beach in Fort Lauderdale and ride 105 miles to Fort Pierce.  We stay overnight in a hotel. The second day we ride back to Fort Lauderdale to a designated home where we relax, have a massage, eat and drink. At 4:30 we ride together to a welcome back celebration at Georgi's Alibi in Wilton Manors at 5:00PM.

-Are there designated stops on the ride?

We have a fully supported ride with designated stops, support vehicles, cooks, and massage therapists.

-How many riders participate?

We have had as few as 7 and as many as 22 riders in the past few years.  For 2009 we hope to have 20-25 riders.

-Are there training rides?

We train 2-4 days/week.  In general we recommend a minimum of 10 weeks for training.  Contact Chip or Raoul to discuss training and specific fitness.
